Molly went to her first concert bright and early this morning, courtesy of SXSW and KGSR at The W- we saw AND got to MEET(!) the Michael Kiwanuka. It was awesome. He an amazing talent and performed just as beautifully live as he does on his album. Meanwhile, little Miss Molly bounced through the first song, was lulled to sleep during the second ("Rest") and then slept right through getting to meet him afterwards. How gratifying to get to thank him for sharing his talent and music and tell him that his song "I'm Getting Ready" was playing when she was born; and that his music has literally been the soundtrack buoying Joe and me for some of the incredible highs and terrifying lows that we have already experienced in her 9 months of life. His album is a must-have for anyone who needs a moment to release, to take a breath and to be uplifted.
