Countdown to Number Two

That's Wonderful, But...

You had an accident tonight and insisted that you put on a fresh pair of jeans and undies even though bathtime was a few minutes away. After you were dressed, you returned to Stroller Derby around the house, a regular occurance this week thanks to the hand-me-down doll strollers Aunt Jackie and Uncle Eric gave you and Bitsy at family dinner on Sunday.

A couple more minutes of chaos later, the strollers quit rattling around the kitchen and we heard you say to Molly in a calm and kind voice "that's wonderful Biddy, but I don't need that right now,"
she was standing there holding for you one of your wet socks which she had fished out of the dirty clothes hamper.

Sweet baby sister pays superb attention to everything going around – even if she can't talk about it yet, she acts on it. In this scenario, she knew you wanted to get re-dressed and knew you had not yet put your socks back on.

And sweet big brother – though you were grossed out by your own sock, you took the time to be sweet and thankful to her for her looking out for you. It was not lost on you that she was taking care of you.

Love you two.

On a related note – last night at Tarrytown Park, Molly was playing with bigger kids and started fussing a little, agitated with the other kids. She was okay though, not in total distress and I think she could have help her own. I watched you run up the stairs to the top slide and yell at this little boy "Don't do that to my baby sister!! She doesn't like it. Let her go down by herself." And sure enough, you stood there, arm extended and blocking the way, until she comfortably sat and went down the slide.
