We packed a picnic and headed out of town today for lunch at Bastrop State Park. A couple years after the wildfires, the damage is still evident, but we saw baby pine trees volunteering throughout the drive, marked by flags. Maybe it will regrow enough by the time you guys are teenagers that it will feel like a forest again. Another symbol proving hope and life spring eternal!
