My speech notes:
(Roughly what I said after Joe spoke)

In fact, in our 36-hour window, we explored other options, talk to world-renowned doctors and institutions, to determine what would be the best approach to try to save her life.

A glimmer of comfort came in the realization that the BEST place for the specialties and expertise she required, were right here in Austin, Texas, a couple miles from our 2-year old son, our support network, our HOME. We would not be split up, we would not be uprooted.

Again, Joe and I are immeasurably grateful for this incredible community **-of friends and family, doctors nurses and technicians - dr neff, Dr Horwitz, Dr Filardi - who kept my baby pain free for the five days following her nephrectomy- Dr Berry and your wonderful teams and COLLEAGUES** and THANK you for the LIGHT you brought us. We are delighted that so many of you -who mean so much to us- can be here tonight to celebrate.

It is our hope that some day soon EVERY child with ANY condition can come through the doors at Dell Children's and receive the type of world class medical care that saved my baby's life.
