Subject: Summer 2014
My darlings,
The summer is coming to close. it was a marvelous time but I can't believe it is over. Even with the extra two week extension - thanks to school start being delayed at Good Shepherd - I'm not sure that I'm ready. However, tonight during bath time we talked through some of the amazing things we did, people we saw and summer bucket list items. I think we did pretty well.
From a very basic perspective: we are still living in the garage apartment. The roof came off the house the first week of July which made the front yard (well, and for the most part, the backyard too) unsuitable for us to run around in with all the nails and broken wood and glass strewn about in the yard. That was a bummer. But it didn't slow us down too much – we just loaded up in the car and made our way around town! There were times when I had to meet with a worker here and there, but we finally hit a groove with that to where it wasn't too tough on everyone (thanks to the 2-way talk video monitor).
We had play dates with:
The Macovics
The Mizes
The Paulsons
The Strausses
The Murrays
The Korinths
The Criexell
The Wellers
Madeline and Dylan
The Abbotts-- and baby Claire
The Triplets
The Wukashs
The Koesters
The Randolphs
Waylon Kinsel
Ford Shapiro
Clark Pollard

We visited family in Dallas (Uncle Ted and Aunt Rubria, Nina and Grandpa Bill and all of his kids), Colleyville (Aunt Mary and Uncle Scott), Hubbard (Boppa) and Tyler (Great Grandmama Shrum).
We took a family vacation for the first time in years and went to the beach in Port Aransas for a whole 8 days! After years of not taking a vacation, this was huge! We were able to meet up with the Andreanis in the middle of the week and the Paulsons at the end of the week.
Went swimming at: the Bartletts, the Paulson's apartment complex pool, the new Westenfield pool, Westwood country club, ACC, and the Prices house
We started a weekly in playgroup with Jackson's upcoming kindergarten class at records for next year. We managed to gather 12 families with kids. Brykerwoods a year from now. Our little pre-K Brykerwoods playgroup generally had three or four families at the Bailey Park splash pad and included the pizza dinner for the kids and a little wine for the moms.
